Voices of the Pandemic

(A Lasgidi Story)

Our company Efizzi Communicaions is looking for sponsorship or purchase of airtime for advertising during the exclusive premier of our above titled documentary at Ebony Place movie theaters, on Easter SundayApril 4th 2021.

As the corona virus was ravaging the world and our government put Lagos on Lockdown as it became the epicentre of the virus, we decided to shoot a documentary that touches on the effects of the novel virus on the fabric of life in the city.

The Lasgidi story is a privately funded CSR initiative of our company to create awareness about the virus and its effects on residents of the city from the rich to the poor. We were on the streets for 8 months from the initial lockdown period to capture the mood of the city visually from the perspective of folks from different strata of the society through vox pop interviews. It

also features iconic statues and Lagos landmarks that exhibit the flavour and character of the city.

Amongst other issues, the documentary delves into the effects of lockdown and social distancing on the slums of Lagos while also presenting the views of those in charge of the disease containment efforts of the ministry of health, Lagos state government. Also we have testimonials of 2 Covid-19 survivors as they discuss stigmatization and mental health issues relating to being diagnosed covid-19 positive. The highlight of the documentary is an interview with the medical doctor who discovered the Italian index case, Doctor Amara Allison of the International SOS, a foreign organization that seconded her to Lafarge Cement Company in Ewekoro, Ogun state where the Italian worked. Our documentary touches on a topic often ignored but critical and is the first step in covid -19 treatment, (counselling). Doctor Grace Odjighoro of Paelon Memorial Hospital, (A top private government accredited covid-19 treatment center) she stresses that it usually is the determinant factor in winning a patients confidence and could lead to early recovery.

With an expression of interest we will send you an advert package containing the various options available for you to choose from Below is a link to a directors cut of the making of the documentary for your perusal.
